Like so many other children, Tim has been a victim of sexual abuse. Twenty years later, his memory is jogged when playing Orco Park, a videogame from his childhood and he is flooded with questions: how could this have happened? Who knew about it? Has he been affected growing up? What is “normal” in such situations?
Written by Pierre Corbinais (Haven, Road 96: Prologue, Bury Me, My Love), Wednesdays aims to raise awareness about domestic sexual violence through a surprisingly bright story.
A multifaceted emotional story
Wednesdays is built like a fragmentary novel.
Build attractions and decorate your place in Orco Park, an in-game park-construction simulation, and unlock Tim’s memories one after another. Discover a new character from Tim’s relative and try to unravel the tangled memories of his past.
Beyond its ingenious gameplay and charming art direction, Wednesdays is also a game that has given several of its creators the opportunity to make their voices heard—not only as game developers but also, for some, as survivors.
By bringing together these talented artists, Pierre Corbinais uses his brilliant style to demonstrate how one can read between the lines of victims' silence and recognize manifestations of sexual violence within their surroundings.
A polished and colorful aesthetic
Wednesdays combines two antonymous and yet equally sweet art styles. Tim’s memories are drawn by published author and artist Exaheva who takes her inspiration from comics and graphic novels. Orco Park is designed by Nico Nowak (There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension) in a good-old colorful pixel art from the 90s.
Everyone can play
Wednesdays has been designed to be accessible, whether you are a hardcore player, a casual one or a total newbie. Similar to an interactive comic, Wednesdays is, above all, easy to navigate. Users can also adjust the settings to ensure that the reading and game experience meets their needs.
Accessibility has been taken into account throughout the production of Wednesdays:

Wednesdays is the latest collaborative project between two of indie games' big names, The Pixel Hunt and Pierre Corbinais, known for emotional and thought-provoking games such as Bury Me, My Love, or The Wreck.
The Pixel Hunt is known for their reality-based games that sit somewhere between journalism, documentary film and video games. Their work is original both in terms of design and storytelling.
Author and former journalist Pierre Corbinais is already celebrated for his narrative design work. In addition to his previous collaborations with The Pixel Hunt, he is also known for his narrative design on The Game Bakers’ Haven and Digixart’s Road 96: Prologue French localization. His sensitive writing for Wednesdays brings this auto-fictional story to life, addressing incest and domestic sexual violence with authenticity.
The comic book author Exaheva illustrates Wednesdays’ narrative panels. Her style, blending elements of comics and manga, brings authenticity and sensitivity to the still-too-taboo subject of sexual violence involving and between minors.
In the vein of The Pixel Hunt's "reality games" Wednesdays hopes to encourage players to question and better understand the complexity of the issue and the situations faced by victims of sexual violence.
